A fear of judgment is instilled in women the moment they are created. They begin their lives with anxiety and guilt created by the expectations of others and they are continuously taught to hold shame over their bodies from the start. If I could create a world, there would be no reason to fear your body or have worries of the perception held over you. This world would simply shape itself into an ideal universe where its inhabitants could just exist.
Through abstract and mark-making techniques, my work depicts the nude figure in whimsical landscapes created for their own pleasure. The characters I place into these worlds exist freely with no limitations or expectations of how their body should be viewed, they are no longer being held back from embracing their true colors.
