Book artist CHLOÉ SHEPHARD releases 10247, an auto-ethnographic exploration of her departure and return to the city of Berlin. An auto-ethnographic documentation of a physical and emotional journey of return. Utilising unique and experimental design language, the book’s photography and typography are punctuated by errant lines and shapes. Spanning over a decade, the book chronicles a turbulent chapter of grief, reflecting on a past life in Berlin, where Shephard lived while enduring a familial terminal
illness and the breakdown of a long-term relationship. 10247 is a personal, yet playful, account of loss and transformation, using the mechanism of book-making to construct a layered encounter between two selves: the person one once was & the person they have become.
