I built a rather unconventional 3-foot-tall kaleidoscope one winter after being inspired by Hokusai's intense obsession with perspective and his "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji". I thought to myself, infinity is quite the topic to dabble with, and so is a giant mirror prism akin to the CERN particle collider. So in this vein, I spent two months learning how to play with this giant prismatic kaleidoscope and capture various vantages of looking into infinity and having it look back at you. From the experiment, I selected my best thirty-six photographs (nothing has been photoshopped) and assembled them here. I also made a music video, which is online—just search for "The Kaleido Tron".
