Abstract Deconstructions of the Perfectly Mundane

A. Marie, a Canadian Artist based in France, contends that in the abstract deconstruction of everyday objects and moments lies profound personal agency. In the exploration of colour relationships, and mark-making, a sense of control, grounding, peace and play can be found amidst tumultuous narratives. The observation of the immediate and mundane, and then art making, acts as an invitation to reflect on seemingly insignificant details to find a sense of self and a sense of calm.
