I see painting as a way of reconnecting with intuition and embracing a slower, more open process. Growing up close to Uruguay’s countryside, surrounded by animals, folklore, and storytelling, shaped my way of seeing. Now living in Madrid, distance has deepened my sense of belonging.
My work explores nostalgia, identity, and everyday life through rural scenes, the gaucho, earthy tones, saturated colours, and patterns. Inspired by Figari, Viera, Blanes, and Torres García, I reinterpret elements of Uruguayan culture, shifting them into contemporary contexts to create a subtle sense of discomfort.
After years in design, I am drawn to a slower way of working, allowing time and intuition to guide the image. In my family, art has always been a way of getting by. Now, I paint out of desire.
