Submission Painting

Anemoia

This body of work uses oil on canvas to explore the cinema of life, spanning the range of human experience through both the real and fantastical portrayals of heart warming, satirical and somber moments. The mood of the scene is created through color, context and title of the “movie”. The anonymous figures consist primarily of one person dressed in various clothing and painted together to give the impression of a believable group of people. The primary focus becomes the scene and the feel of a moment. The who is/was there within a memory falls away and what remains is the essence. I am continuing to pursue the feeling captured within a moment both real and imagined. Asking, how would this feel even if I myself have not experienced it before.
