Between 100-300 million sharks are killed each year for fins, sport, meat, as accidental by-catch, and due to fear. Each shark species has a different vibe when photographing them, ranging from skittish to a commanding presence. Every species within this series is facing unsustainable rapid decline, with conservation statuses including near-threatened, endangered, and critically endangered.
