Capitalist culture, like many conventional religions comprise a seductive characteristic where by its very essence nurtures an endless striving stipulating transcendence, an essential characteristic which eventually grants reward (or escapism) towards an ideal world. In capitalist consumer culture a secular desire has been generated that promises a materialist emancipation of comfort, health and happiness for ones well-being. A person can then continuously work towards an ideal heavenly materialist-oriented salvation, whereby s/he will be rewarded and elevated from his/her miserable existence, yet this materialistic striving doesn’t fulfill ones long term satisfaction since this infinite domain can never be fulfilled or overcome.
