My current series of figurative oil paintings titled 'Being' arose from my interest and exploration in scientific and philosophical topics connected to the questions of the illusion of self and biological or cultural shaping of consciousness.
Abstract pearlescent opaque forms interact symbolically with the person as my expressive interpretations of unpinning concepts inspired by my research and observations. I chose this aesthetic because to me it acts as it's own life-form, sometimes distorting, obstructing, connecting and shaping the person. The series gives me a perfect platform to express my observations and ideas married with my passion of figurative oil painting.
