My artistic practice can best be described as an exploration of temporality. The sourced photographs referenced in my art are black and white, suggesting a history of days that have passed. In my figurative paintings, I have added color and a fluorescent underpainting, creating tension between past and present. Passage of time is examined in these moments. My paintings include patterns enveloping figures, like peering behind grandmother’s peeling wallpaper, revealing a record of those once there. I am investigating shared human experiences and relationships to their surroundings over the course of generations.
