Submission Painting

body of work

My work explores perception as an active process shaped by the interaction between visual stimuli and the beholder’s cognitive and emotional systems.

Working with repetition, subtle shifts, and controlled color relationships, I construct visual conditions that engage not only visual recognition, but also spatial perception and emotional response.

Color, in particular, plays a central role in this process. Beyond its function in articulating form and spatial relationships, it has the capacity to directly evoke affective responses, whether independently or in conjunction with line and structure.

In this way, the work moves away from representation and instead operates through the fundamental elements of perception—line, color, form, light, and movement —allowing meaning to emerge through the act of looking.
