Shot as part of the '100 Iterations' series, these photographs capture the artist wearing mask number 69 out of 100, entitled 'Anticlimax = Catharsis.' Each mask is an "iteration" representing a human experience or emotion in hyperbole, and these photographs build a tragicomic world around this one. As the artist exhausts himself amidst a decrepit, claustrophobic office building, the photos invoke the realizations of many young Americans that the world of prosperity and safety they were born into has been eroded just in time for them to inherit it. The nod to Keith Haring speaks to the 90s upbringing and the struggle of the young and creative against a massive doom, though instead of it being the HIV/AIDS epidemic, it's climate change and the erosion of global democracy. Inspired by Haring, it's an empathetic call to action.
