Corpus Christi Beach, here in South Texas, is not exactly a paradise destination. This day in particular was overcast, and gloomy, and all these were taking around the fishing boat area near downtown. The photo that caught my attention, and set this whole series off, is the jelly fish one. I remember being excited to see a jellyfish! I didn't notice all the oil in the water, till I got home and started editing the photo. It's such a beautiful photo, of a jellyfish swimming in marble. Which would be a good idea for a composite image... But it's a real, one shot, photo of a jellyfish swimming in our oil infested Gulf of Mexico. Sad really. Also, that discarded Starfish is about two feet from the water. She was so close to making it home. The pelican probably has to have oil on it and in it, from feeding on fish?
