Currently the theme that I am exploring is 'Family system'. It is both love and hate relationships which hold so much of the feelings that are difficult to express. In my paintings I try to reveal theses complicated dynamics and atmosphere. They are conveyed through various decisions I make in my paintings. The defining visual language of the collection is characterised by streaks of dripping paint and dissolving veils of colour that cascade down the canvas like a psychological curtain or a heavy rain. The figures, wearing party hats or gathered around holiday tables, feature blurred, obscured, or fading faces. This directly evokes the systemic phenomenon of entanglements, where an individual unknowingly carries the face, fate, or emotional burden of someone who came before them.
