Coming Out

Coming out' is a piece that mainly focuses on the Transgender identity of the LGBTQ+ spectrum. This artwork is an attempt to explain the Trans concept using a surreal yet also literal analogy.
In the upper picture, you can see a man in a grey smock, who cannot see his own reflection as he looks into the clouded water. He is lost in terms of his gender identity and thus, can only see the ephemeral ripples created by his touch.
The bottom picture shows a woman in yellow carrying the transgender flag (blue, pink and white), swimming up towards the surface of the water. The idea is that she is coming out of the water as his true self i.e., a transwoman.
'Coming out' is based on subtle LGBTQ+ colour references to better explain the queer, especially transgender, analogy.
