Liss Leussant is a spanish visual artist influenced by distant cultures and unfamiliar climates. Her practice began with Create What Is Not, a series combining photography and geometric illustration to construct brutalist environments absent from her native city. After spending a year in Narva, an Estonian border city facing Russia, her visual language evolved through an encounter with vast landscapes, austere architecture and liminal spaces. These influences inform her depictions of the human figure, situated within a visual language of coldness, rigid forms and restrained palettes. Her work explores artifice, identity and estrangement, examining the tension between the organic body and constructed environments, and the desire to inhabit places beyond one's immediate reality.
