Dialeto's authorial project, Crespo is a study of Afro-contemporary Latin codes. In many of the illustrations, the characters are depicted on warm colored backgrounds. There is no way to identify where the characters are located, perhaps to emphasize the similarity of signs that connect Latin America with Africa.
Another starting point for the portraits is the inspiration in the signs and posters of afro barber shops. In short, the Crespo series is a tribute to the Afro-Latinx subject for his aesthetic contribution.
