I am fascinated by everything beautiful that the universe and humans create.
My work and interest is about bringing classical beauty into contemporary art and to do work that matters, for people who care.
In the past 10 years I explored the human portrait, human emotions and imaginary stories about my characters, matched with restored vintage frames. I love to create strong characters that are inviting you to come closer, to take another look, to trace the features through the misty brushwork and join in.
Currently, I treasure my freedom to experiment, to paint whatever inspires me. Anything.
My current technique is based exclusively on oil paints and echoes the old tradition of the Dutch masters, with layers and layers of soft hues and varnishes.
