Submission Photography

Dutch Queer Scene

Dutch Queer Community and Its Beauty is an ongoing photography project by Luca van Ruiten that documents queer self-expression across the Netherlands. Shot in Rotterdam, Spijkenisse, Maastricht, Utrecht, and Amsterdam, the project follows drag queens, kings, and performers from dressing rooms to stages.

The project began as a collaboration with the Rotterdam City Archive, driven by a simple goal: to give visibility and recognition to this underrepresented voice within the archive. This selection is a snapshot of my archive that is still being built, one image at a time.
