Emoji Old Masters

23.10.26 —

Emoji Old Masters rebuilds public-domain masterpieces entirely out of emoji. It asks what happens to Van Gogh, Hokusai and Vermeer when they're remade from the visual vocabulary of the phone keyboard. Each piece is made of thousands of emoji: up close you see waves, swirls and stars, and from afar you see the painting.
