EMPIRE is a satirical and anthropological series exploring the banality of how imperialism is actively produced and reproduced through cruise tourism. The series puts a glossy, postcard sheen on the unreality that is the naked hierarchies of power on a cruise ship. This project was taken on a single five-day cruise in the Caribbean in 2019 and is my first photo project.
The series was self-published in a booklet last year.
