Jan Ziegler was born in 1974, grew up in Southern Germany and today is based in Berlin. 2000 he graduated his design studies and has been working for numerous renowned and international fashion and lifestyle brands since then. Aesthetic perception is central to his professional environment, which is characterised by rapidly changing design processes. In his endeavour to systemise visual perception, he depends on subconscious aesthetic decisions.
In his artwork, Jan Ziegler is exploring beyond well-practised design habits, using perceptive processes based on visual sensation. In his abstract paintings, landscapes and portrait studies he is exploring unconscious perceptions of visual attraction as well as the concept of intuitive beauty aside normative ideals.
