FLESH AS CURRENCY examines how platform economies, hypersexualization and systems of categorization shape contemporary ideas of the body, desire and visibility. Taking anonymous Grindr profiles as a starting point, the project translates categories and preferences such as Muscle, Hairy, Unicorn, Latex and Tentacles into an ongoing series of textile sculptures. By combining these labels into physical forms, anonymous digital profiles become posthuman bodies, reflecting on how platforms classify, reduce and shape the ways bodies are seen, valued and desired.
