"Foreigners" explores states of partial recognition, otherness and displacement. Figures remain familiar enough to be identified, yet resist becoming fully legible. The series is concerned with the moment when an image seems to contain a story but withholds the information needed to complete it. Figurative painting becomes a way of sustaining this uncertainty, allowing gesture, space and bodily presence to remain unresolved.
