Good Times is an ongoing series of large-scale mixed-media paintings about the years between childhood and youth – the moment you first realise you can decide and act on your own. The works borrow the visual language of a 90s childhood and follow a loose timeline from the first small transgressions to leaving.
I paint with acrylic, oil and house paint on bases built mainly from recycled materials. The surfaces are layered and reworked, carrying traces of what they once were, because the series is about change and ambiguity: nothing here is fully settled.
The central piece, Working Dog, shows a dog from the future looking back as fire burns beneath its feet – looking at where you came from while the ground is already shifting.
First shown at Bud galleria, Helsinki, 2026.
