Hi Booooooom,
I’m a mural painter based in Edinburgh, Scotland, but with a newborn at home I haven’t been able to work on walls in the same way. Instead, I started a series of small gouache paintings at the kitchen table — a more intimate format that I could fit around family life.
The works mix portraits and Scottish landscapes but use colour in a way that feels slightly off — heightened, saturated, sometimes unsettling. I like how pushing colour away from the natural can make familiar subjects feel strange, hinting at how disconnected we’re becoming from the natural world.
