Submission Photography

I Thought It Was Fiction

My name is Denis Wong and I’m an artist based in Montréal, Canada.

As a photographer, I aim to challenge my perception of form and existence. Through my lens, I explore alternative perspectives, allowing new meanings to surface in my environment.

Included in this submission are pieces from a series called “I Thought It Was Fiction,” in which I reflect upon the increasingly synthetic and AI-generated visual landscape of our time. Although my work is grounded in reality and produced without the use of AI, it deliberately explores its distorted and ambiguous character. My objective is to walk a fine line while never crossing it, creating artwork that make you wonder if reality has surpassed fiction. These images or montages are meant to be quirky, singular, and revealing of different layers of symbolism.
