I’m Still a Dyke

Through the eyes of an animalistic, hound-like creature, it speaks to the experience of growing up queer in a homophobic environment. Having grown up in a small town in India, the zine references the memories of where I lived - both emotional and visual - to create the world within which this creature exists. It also touches on my experience with gender and coming to terms with being both non-binary and, as the title suggests, a dyke.
The visuals were created by combining textures from old monoprints, paper cut-outs, and digital drawings. With each page using both text and image, the zine becomes its own visual poem, taking the reader on a journey through vivid grassland moors alongside the hound, as it tries to find its community.
