Operatives applied to an original photograph are used to develop aspects of reality present in the scene. Contextual brush strokes and “cloning” tools sample elements and abstract them in fluid extrusions and staccato repetitions. Multiple exposures may stack and mask themselves as objects on the current image field, and shadows reveal 3D depth through the layers. The final scene is a collage of elements given new meaning through their interventions.
