Impermanence

This series documents the physical and economic erosion of a marginalized rural space. Fifty years ago my father, Gale, worked the land in Grand View, Idaho, as a soil conservationist. Returning to this town together, my photography explores the dissonance between his memories of a supported agricultural community and the stark reality of its current desolation. The images capture him navigating a landscape marked by profound institutional abandonment, standing before a vast, arid expanse.
