The installation „Flickering Lights“ consists of about 3000 square meters of dyed fabric and about 800 liters of paint.
With a total weight of one ton, the 34 color shades change due to different light conditions as well as absorbing and reflecting this.
The eye can no longer differentiate and creates numerous colors out of a clear number of different shades. Viewing this installation leaves room for the experiences of one's own visual apparatus - in the most diverse light conditions.
Quintessenz is playing with this illusion again and again - different graphic elements are carrying the color and creating complex worlds within their own simplicity that send the viewer on an almost digital-looking journey.
