Working with oil pastels, I create vivid, dreamlike compositions in which faces emerge, overlap and transform into one another. The faces are not portraits of specific individuals. They are embodiments of thoughts, emotions and energies that can exist within us, sometimes consciously and sometimes beyond our awareness.

The recurring eyes suggest different forms of seeing and being seen, while the intertwined faces represent the connections between the individual and what came before them. Past generations, inherited experiences and karmic bonds become part of a visual language that blurs the boundaries between the personal and the collective.

I use intense colors, distortion and repetition to give form to things that are difficult to express through words.
