I am Martyn Schickerling an artist and art lover from South Africa that specialise in sculpture. My preferred mediums are bronze, mild steel and granite. I work part time at a fine arts foundry as an artist assistant and all round foundry-man. I am fascinated by the balance between the organic and geometric and have a sincere love and passion for the structure of pylons. Pylons feature in most of my work as I incorporate their geometric structure with an organic twist. "Intrepid Transition" is a very personal artwork that encapsulates my journey as an artist from my humble beginnings as a new artist creating art from nothing and how I become a cog in the machine that beautifies the world around me.
