When you're a young man entering the world of romance, it's easy to think of every woman you meet as a potential opportunity, whether that be for sex, or a relationship, or both. I found myself in this ignorant position, looking for something within women that I wouldn't ever find, at least not in the way I was going about things (some may call this a "hoe phase"). So I took a step back, and saw the way I was acting was not only damaging to myself, but to the women I was involving myself with as well. It sounds elementary, but, I realized that women had much more to offer than what they had to offer me directly. I think many men only see women through one lens, one of romance and desire, but if we take the time to look deeper, we can see them through the kaleidoscope, more complex and beautiful than we could have imagined.
