“Katabasis” traditionally refers to a descent or a transition from one realm to another. Rather than interpreting this descent literally as a journey into the underworld, I view it as crossing the boundary between different realities, moving away from the known world and entering a parallel or hidden one.

A parallel reality need not exist somewhere in physical space. It can emerge through consciousness, memory, dreams, imagination, or altered perception. It is a world that exists alongside the reality we know, yet follows its own internal logic. The descent becomes a transition from the visible to the hidden, from the known to the unknown.
