Landscape of memory – paintings

In the series Landscape of Memory, landscape appears as a space between a physical place and its echo in memory. Memory does not preserve a place as a complete image, but alters, simplifies and reconstructs it through fragments of atmosphere, light, colour and sensation. The making process follows the same logic: the surface is built through layering, covering and removing material. Traces of earlier layers remain partially visible, like fragments of memory that fade, shift or re-emerge. The painting thus becomes a physical manifestation of remembering, moving between recognisable landscape and abstraction.
