Last Breath + Bonebounded

Inspired by tarot, these two pieces encapsulate the theme of love. The first piece “Last Breath” can be interpreted in two ways: the first deals with one’s breath being taken away during love at first sight. The second conveys the intertwinement of love and mortality where the passions are what keep our spirits alive. This is based on the “death” card in tarot, which represents a symbol of transformation and new beginnings.

The second piece titled “Bonebounded” was inspired by the “lovers” card in tarot (in terms of harmonial alignment and unity). From a glance they look symmetrical but at a closer look you see the differences. The slight asymmetrical angle imposed on this piece signifies that perfection is often found in the way two unique halves finally fit.

(both pieces are acrylic on canvas)
