Leading Lines

Leading lines have always interested me in photography. They offer a way into an image, guiding the eye through a scene and drawing attention to relationships between shapes, spaces and the world around us. Yet for me, photography is about more than composition. It's an ongoing attempt to understand how we see, what we notice and why certain moments hold our attention.

I'm drawn to the ordinary, to things that might otherwise pass unnoticed. Through photography, I try to explore the relationship between what is physically there and what we bring to it through our own perception. These seven images share a visual language, and each represents something of that wider search. A search for meaning and a different way of seeing the familiar.
