Lost in Translation

Lost in Translation investigates the inherent tensions between photography's ability to document intimate relationships and self-identity, and its limitations in conveying their fluid and evolving nature. While photography excels at capturing expressions, gestures, and atmosphere, its stillness often struggles to encapsulate the contradictions, transitions, and emotional complexities that define intimacy. This project challenges the static nature of the medium by integrating personal memories, emotional experiences, and photographic archives, employing image reconstruction and mixed-media techniques to push beyond conventional representation. By expanding photography's narrative and sensory potential, I aim to reveal the fragile, multi-layered essence of intimacy and the continuous transformation of self-perception within it.
