MADISON is a collaborative project where community, memory, migrant impermanence, passion, and Latino-American culture converge. It unfolds in a shared space that gradually builds and fluctuates week by week. Participants come together to share a familiar activity, bridging the gap between their present lives and what they hold dear. Fútbol acts as the connecting thread, uniting 20+ individuals weekly, fostering freedom and presence amidst external adversities. These suspended moments transcend time, where drinks, laughter, games, and news from home and the Fútbol world take precedence. Madison stems from my immigrant experience, Colombian upbringing, Fútbol obsession, and active role in this community. It represents friendship, belonging, and living in the present.
