My edgelands projects is a sporadic examination of the edgelands of Melbourne. I've lived in Melbourne since 1998 and the population has doubled in that time, a good portion of those. new people have moved to the fringes of the city. where there were once fields, farms and native bush has often been bulldozed and suburbia is beginning to take hold. For a city which has a massive footprint with an only a medium sized population, the question I ask is why ? Australian obsession with spreading out can't be a good thing. The project is currently on hold while I battle cancer but will continue as soon as I am able.
