My English sucks (MESS) was born from my experience of moving alone from my home country (Mexico) to Canada. Language, culture, and weather were challenges I didn't expect to hit me so hard. I felt a lot of loneliness and depression in something as common as migration. I wanted to talk about how I felt about it. I bought an iPad and started drawing with no prior experience. MESS has been a cathartic event for me since I've been in Canada. It's my way of telling others who feel alone due to migration: hey, not everything is okay, but you're not alone. So far, I've only experimented with risograph printing and screen printing. I'm starting to paint with acrylics and explore interventions.
For now, I live in Montreal, and I'm currently experimenting with a third language (my French sucks, haha).
