Working in editorial illustration, independent publishing, book illustration and printmaking, I always try to influence my projects with new learnings from each discipline. Coming from printmaking, I love creating tones through textures and to work with limited color palettes. Using reduced geometric forms, I find particular joy in creating new visual modes of storytelling with them. To surprise my self with a fresh approach and unexpected ideas, I play with paper-cut and inky hand prints and integrate these analog methods into my workflow.
In my personal projects, I develop a poetic visual language to accompanying texts I have written myself—often published in the form of small zines. With these independent projects I provide myself a space to evolve stylistically, also bringing this spirit back to a vital and positive work.
