The focus of my works are characteristic, sometimes childlike figures, whose facial features are always shifted and deconstructed in a distinctive way and have their origin in my imagination. These figures arise spontaneously and from the unconscious, often in lively groupings that merge into one another and appear as a sometimes larger, sometimes smaller mass of figures. The transitions between the figures are fluid, making it difficult to determine the exact beginning or end of an individual figure.
My figurative groups reflect scenes, objects and trends from my everyday life and personal environ- ment that influence and inspire me. I take these everyday aspects out of their usual context and mix them into the world of my characters. Complex collections of fantasy figures emerge in my works that are inspired by reality.
