At Nogeyama Zoo’s Nakayoshi Plaza in Yokohama, Japan, three buildings by Koizumi Atelier sit among trees on a wooded hillside. Photographed in 2025, this series explores the relationships between their timber roofs, the surrounding landscape and the changing light.

Daylight, interior, aerial and dusk views reveal different aspects of the architecture. My aim is to preserve a clear record of the completed buildings, with close attention to materials, perspective and the way each space is experienced.

Naoki Terakawa is an Architectural Photographer based in Tokyo, Japan, and the founder of TERAKAWA Photo Office, specializing in architectural and completion photography.
