Xiao Ma, as my first name means Smile in mandarin, I believe Smile is for the world. My work offers a narrative and photographic exploration of love through observations of human interactions, emotions, and social and political events. I care about love because I believe it is the fundamental of my life, creation, and art, and it can be the solution for lots of personal, social, political issues. I aim to make an empathetic connection with my viewer. I believe that this is a form of love.
