OBS. is an ongoing series of short videos from my research project "El opuesto humano" (Medellín, Colombia). I run my own footage (talks, conversations, landscapes) through computer-vision algorithms I write myself: thermal readings, blob tracking, 1-bit dithering, ASCII terminals, pixel values and generative branches driven by the energy of my voice. Every frame shows what the machine actually measures, with real data on screen. In OBS. 007, a talk I gave at the Museo de Arte del Tolima: 446 frames, 1,395 shapes detected, total understood: 0. Nothing is AI-generated: it is real footage, processed by code. The question behind the series: what does a machine register of a human experience, and what does it miss? Instagram: @juanrendon.art
