Emily Andrews is an artist and musician based in Niagara Falls, Canada. She works in a variety of media, including oil painting, collage, and installation art. Rooted in surrealism, her work features a subtle absurdity and is influenced by moments of the past and the unconscious mind, operating in the space between memory and imagination. Through references to outdated technology, lost eras, and cinematic moments, Emily’s work centres around the psychology of anemoia, which refers to a nostalgia for a time or place that one has never experienced. Her work has been shown in many group and solo exhibitions and can be found in both private and public collections throughout North America. Emily is a self-taught artist with a BA in Visual Arts from Brock University.
