Since 2019, Amal Ghamlooch has documented life in Lebanon through film photography, initially as a way to learn her camera and explore the country. Over time, she became drawn to the sea; captivated by the way light meets water and the sense of stillness it offers amidst constant uncertainty.

These photographs move beyond documentation, becoming fragments of memory and longing. They depict a Lebanon suspended between reality and imagination: a place where sunlight endlessly glimmers on the waves, where daily worries briefly dissolve, and where moments of peace feel possible.

Through hazy textures and fleeting scenes, On the Shore of Dreams reflects on photography's ability to preserve not only places, but also the versions of them we carry in our dreams.
