Persona non grata

The original idea behind this piece was the feeling of being drowned out or ignored by the people around you, especially when you are sharing a story or pitching an idea. This, as with much of my work, is expressed through what I call a Soulyp which is the combination of "soul" and "polyp" because I wish to convey not just my understanding of the world through my art but also a part of my soul. For "Persona non grata" I placed the red Soulyp in an uncomfortable position, wedged amongst the other larger more assertive green Soulyps. While the green Soulyps may not be intentionally harming the red Soulyp, there is an ignorance implied by their positioning and their apparent ease of existence.
